The Global Poverty Project 2012 Spring Tour is currently underway, visiting over 100 universities, high schools and faith groups across the USA and Canada, presenting it’s groundbreaking presentation 1.4 Billion Reasons to over 20,000 people to encourage them to take action to help end extreme poverty.

The Global Poverty Project is please to announce that the tour group in our marvellous van will soon be joined by d’Arcy Lunn. d’Arcy will be presenting 1.4 Billion Reasons in April and May across Oregon, Washington State, British Colombia and beyond.

He will be touring separately, presenting around the USA and Canada with two twists.

  • He will be commuting by bicycle and
  • Be Living Below the Line!

Last GPP Bike Trip in AU 2009

The Live Below the Line challenge is when everyday people live on just US$1.50 per day (the extreme poverty line) for all their food and drink for five days. Last year the Global Poverty Project had over 10,000 people do this for five days and raised $1.4 million through fundraising. This year’s challenge will occur from May 7-11. d’Arcy however will be Living Below the Line for the WHOLE duration of his trip in addition to cycling ridiculous distances and giving 1.4 Billion Reasons presentations in schools and communities.

d’Arcy has previously completed presentation cycling tours in Australia and New Zealand mixing information with inspiration to encourage more people join the movement to see an end to extreme poverty.
